Who got flowers for mothers day????today?
I thought mother's day was in MAY
Reply:Not me because I warned my kids and husband not to buy me any because of the cost, all the florists and market stalls by me, have nearly doubled there prices, so I would rather not have them.
But my eldest son took me out for a mexican meal last night with his girlfriend and her mom, it was a really nice night, it was his first mothers day where he has been working, and he made me so proud.
Reply:my hubby let me loose in the shopping centre with his wallet - brave man. so i got new clothes, jewelery and boots. yeha

Reply:to everyone out with the UK it is mothers day in the UK, yes i got flowers and chocolates but the best pressie of all was my kids visiting with my 9 grand kids, it is pretty hectic but then when they all go home the silence is wonderfull, would not change it for anything xx
Reply:my mum doesnt like flowers so i got her vouchers for a hairdressers
Reply:I got a lovely bunch of flowers with a teddy stuck in them. But the thing I loved most was the card my 4 year old made at play group and went to pain staking lengths to hide from me.
Reply:I got a lovely fluffy dressing gown and 1 card. I have 3 kids all grown [6 g,kids] Wonder if the 2 lads thought mothers day was May like a few on here did I don't mind any-way and have always told my family not to get me flowers for such occasions they are too over=priced I pick my own from my garden all through spring and summer they smell loads better than shop bought and I am actually proud of them.

Flower Seeds that grow in very small pots?
I have been mis informed by a nursery that I could buy African Violet Seeds. I have purchased 150 8x 8x 8cm pot for wedding gifts with a poem and I was going to plant African Violets. I have now been told that you cannot buy these seeds. Can you please suggest another flower that will survive in such a small pot and preferrably indoor plant and they have to begin as seeds.
Flower Seeds that grow in very small pots?
If they have to begin as seeds, do they have to remain in the pot??
How about Coleus? Its a colorful leafy plant, indoors/outdoors and should survive with careful watering in a planter that small.
Technically you can should be able to start almost any seed in those pots, its just a matter a how long they can survive in it.

How can you get an orchid to flower again?
Got orchid as a gift in March and it has just stopped flowering but does not show any more sign of new growth.
I did scrape my nail on stem and there isstill green showing.
Would really like to save it and have it bloom again.
How can you get an orchid to flower again?
Most orchids have a foliage growing phase and a leaf growing phase. Your orchid should grow a leaf, then be ready for another flower
If its a phalaenopsis, it will need cooler night temperatures and the shortening of day length. Try putting it in a location where you get cooler nights (but not too cold!)...Below 65 F should do the trick.
Reply:First, there are hundreds oh orchid types. Some love heat and humidity, some like it cold,.... and so on. My orchids are in the East window of my bathroom. I just use filtered water once a week and keep trays under them with rocks to catch runoff. If you have Yahoo IM, I can send pics. They will bloom when they have rested. Also, let the roots go a bit. If you trim them alot, it threatens the plant, it won't bloom. Give them room and they'll flower for months! Oh, temperature 65-80.
Check the leaves now and then for mites or scale. I just wipe them off every couple of months. The leaves on mine are huge compared to when I bought them. Better care, better plant.
Reply:Most only bloom once per year and some even to longer.
When you see the roots turning a little white, flood it with water. We use to put ours down in the tub and sprayed it from top to bottom.....just like in the jungle. They grow on trees there.
Buy an orchid fertilizer and follow the directions on the container. There use to be one called Peter's, but I think the name has been changed to John's.

Anyone have any good, creative gift ideas for flower girls and ring bearer?
A 10 yr old girl is a little too old to be a flower girl - she is more of a junior bridesmaid age range. The ring bearer will probably enjoy some sort of video game (you can get them at Wal-mart of Target for under $15) and the girls will like more creative things - coloring books for the younger one and something a little more in depth for the older one.
Anyone have any good, creative gift ideas for flower girls and ring bearer?
Remember, they are children, and they'll pick fun over sentimental most any day! If they are into Barbie, there are many bride barbie and barbie stamper or activity sets. A Bride dress up may be fun for the little girl. Kids, including boys, enjoy the markers that only write on the special paper, and you don't have to worry about it getting on their clothes if they use it to keep busy the day of the wedding or during the rehersal. A goft certificate to a play place, like Chuck E Cheese, Build A Bear, or local skate or putt putt place would be good. They little girls may like fun jewelery. Boys love matchcar cars and trucks!
Reply:For my wedding the ringbearers were 5 %26amp; 6 and my flower girl was 4. I bought the boys cheap 35mm cameras, batteries %26amp; a few rolls of film. In total it only cost me around $20 and they absolutely loved them!! You could also toss in a small photo album with it if you wanted. They posed their toys and took pictures of them, pictures of each other and their family and let me tell you, they had some of the best shots from my wedding reception!! They were small and able to sneak in front of people to get the best pictures! I checked with their mom first though to make sure she would be willing to get the pictures developed. I bought my flowergirl lipgloss and a book about being a flower girl.
Reply:I don't know if they are creative or not
For my flower girl, I got on ebay and found a really cute beaded bracelet that had a silver heart engraved with "flower girl" and then I found her a matching necklace and earrings
My ring bearer was 9 and we got him a bicycle chain engraved bracelet from Things remembered, I was worried he wouldn't think it was "boy" enough- but he loved it!! http://www.thingsremembered.com/webapp/w...
Something we got our best man that any little boy would love is an engraved baseball bat- http://www.gunthergifts.com/perbasbat.ht...
we used this company and it turned out really nice!
Hope that helps, Congrats!!
Reply:Maybe get your flower girl(s) a pendant with a flower on it, as it is a keepsake from your wedding that they can keep as they grow up.
I'm at a loss on the ring bearer gift... I'm trying to figure that one out, myself!
Reply:well the possibilities are endless how old are they??
Reply:Well, I gave my flower girl a necklace.
But the ring bearer gifts were the neatest- we took a baseball card/ball holder and put a ball signed by us (bride and groom) in it. It said "Owen, Your our Superstar, Love Matt and Alicia" with our signatures. Then you take a picture of the little boy and have it made into a baseball card (online, it only costs $5). You can even have a little plaque made to attach to it that says their name. It was really cute and unique.
Reply:We spoke to the parents of our flower girl and ring bearer and got them both a toy that they could play with during the rehearsal to keep them entertained (ages 5 and 7). Also I bought them each a book since I am a teacher. I got my flower girl a book called "Flower Girl" I also got them both a keepsake for the day, they got their pictures taken and I sent them to them in really nice frames.
Reply:Find out from their parents what they like. So many people give engraved placards or things like that, but kids don't care about that stuff. We gave our ring bearer, 5 at the time, a large ant farm and bug kit - he was thrilled and set up the ant farm the very next day! My niece was 3 so we gave her a dress up trunk with dresses, shoes, feather boas, etc from the store for about $20.

Can you write me a short poem?
I need a short poem for mine and my husband's four year anniversary. I'm going to make a fruit bouquet and have it sent to his office and I need a short cute poem to attach to it (talking about the four year traditional gift being fruit or flowers - I combined the two). I know its kinda corny but we both love doing stuff like this for each other. Thanks. I asked a question like this before but I didn't realize that paper was not one of my options.
Can you write me a short poem?
Write your own poem from your heart. It'll mean so much more than a poem from a stranger.
But ok here goes:
Fruits and flowers last for hours
Maybe even days
But our love is strong enough
to last always
Ta da!
Reply:If I could touch you or hear your laugher, and
If could have you here after…
If could be with you again, and
If I could free your soul from darkness,
Free you from night and all the pain
Bring you back to the wind and rain
If I could, If could, If I could, If I could
I WOULDN’T!!! Because…
Hell is where you deserve to be
Tell me when you were ever there for me
In the heart of the fire you burn
Oh yes dear I’ve had my turn
You made my life a living hell,
dead among the living
FOUR YEARS you made me YELL!
Your heart was unforgiving
Now burn my love, BURN! Till you stop breathing…
And I will stop singing…
Okay honey…I was only kidding
Reply:I gave you this bouquet of fruit
(tradition said I should).
Then you found out I plagiarized,
and left my *** for good.
Reply:Sorry Im not a poetry DJ and accepting requests.... Why not come up with one of your own? I think your husband would appreciate it much more if it came directly from your heart.
Reply:You're sweet as an apple
and soft as a peach.
Four years we've been married
and I've enjoyed each.

How to find a gift for a man that don't like candy or flowers?
i have a boyfriend that don't want candy or flowers but anything else is open.
How to find a gift for a man that don't like candy or flowers?
hi, thats an interesting question! lol! 20/F wondering the same thing... holla back
Reply:What man does want candy and flowers besides Lance Bass ? Blow him thats it. Its thats simple.
Reply:get him a DVD. or CD. or take him to dinner.
Reply:buy him a shirt you would like to see him in or a CD that he'll like
Reply:you have to realize how us guys perceive gift value. women will value a gift from her man no matter what it is as long as she knew that it came from his heart. for example, i remember my wife and i walking a park one day and i saw a pretty flower. i handpicked it and gave it to her with a kiss. what shocked me was how much she cried and her telling me how much that simple gesture meant to her. women are selfless like that whereas guys are more selfish but not in a bad way. get him something like tickets to his favorite basketball team game or a gift that adds to whatever hobby he has. i'm a deejay so my wife knows to buy me records and i love her for it. good luck!
Reply:buy him a big teddy bear and a card.
Reply:Electronics is always good to a man.
Reply:Bottle of champagne and a home-made supper.
Reply:I think making him a romantic dinner is a great idea. Or tickets to some kind of sporting event that he likes. Or maybe a movie or a gift certificate for renting movies.
Reply:buy him some fishing stuff and go fishing with him
Reply:Boxer shorts with hearts on them. Classic Vday gift. But may give him ideas.

What do you guys think about this type of flower arrangement colors I plan to send to my gf at work?
I been dating my gf for close to 2 months and Its my first ever pay check from work and I am planning to spend it all on the most important people to me... One of them being my gf. I plan on sending her flowers at work since she knows that I have never gave anyone gifts and It will be my first.... So I have come up with the following arrangements...
6 white roses - showing that I care
5 yellow roses - signifying friendship
1 red rose - love
Purpose is that I want her to know that I care of her and will be there for her; with the friendship and trust that we have, love will surely come.... This kind of summarizes what our relationship is currently like.
I want to write her about the meanings of the colors but I am not sure how to come about it... She is a simple girl and I dont know if I should just explain to her through a poem or directly tell her in writing.
What do you guys think about this arrangement and idea?

um ohmygosh i want a bf who does that
poem is really romantic and cute

jkjkj you have a gf and she is really lucky i wish u could teach a few things to the guys at my school
Reply:spend your whole first pay check ? i think she would like one rose better.
your idea is good, if you could afford it. you might make her feel bad for spending so much.
and to all the women who are wishing their boyfriend will do this, we dont do it after about the age of 18 because we learn fast that women will not date a guy who does it. they always leave us for the guy that never buys flowers, so we stop buying them so we can get a date.
want a guy to think of you? stop dating losers.
Reply:Yes, your flower arrangement is great = ) Not only is it sweet and creative, but it's also very appropriate. Considering the fact that you two are still really fresh into the relationship, it seems right to have more of the white %26amp; yellow roses.
A poem would be nice and sweet. Personally, I'd like this better, because it shows that you've put in a little more effort. Some girls find poems corny, but when written with the right words, a poem can make most girls feel extremely special. Then again, I am not your girlfriend... Ha, ha, ha!
But, just go for it! It's extremely sweet! You'd be surprised at how many guys DON'T do these sort of things for their girlfriends! GOOD LUCK!
Reply:Honestly if you put that much time and effort into that she'll love it. Guys really don't think about things that much. At least ones I've dated. She'll really appreciate that you put a lot of thought into it.
Reply:it is ok .... and well known facts ......
if u have her pic, then u can make it animated alongwith ur pic, recording the audio as " i like u , i care u, and i love u, and i want u in my life for ever ... "
as soon as she opens this animated file, she listens these words from ur lips and looks at u in the animation ....
u may send it by mail ....
Reply:Call me a wet blanket, but I agree with the person mentioning the amount you spend .. the amount you spend means nothing compared to the thought you have put into this gift. While blowing everything on her is romantic in its extravagance, please let me suggest the following ..
Open a savings account with part of your check and add to it every check thereafter showing you're a man who thinks abut the future .. a future that could include your wonderful girlfriend. Buy the flowers, but get them at a grocery or even a walmart/kmart store. You can get 3 bouquets of 18 roses for $9 each or $27 total .. give them to her in person, perhaps during a dinner out and explain to her the meaning of the colours in your own words while looking into her eyes. BELIEVE me she will remember that much more than if you blew a load of cash and had them sent to her work.
Reply:1st thing u need to know what is her favorite colors. If u dunno, then probably you need to play it safe by not getting any flowers that are overwhelming becoz....... it is a work place after all and you do not want her to be totally embarassed.
Light colors roses will be great. Avoid striking colors. Keep it romantic by wrapping with baby wreath.
Keep your words simple in describing your love since you said she is a simple gal. Be direct with the truth and keep it short so she can remember those 1st few words of expressing your love to her.
God bless!

Reply:Hello Nim,,I did the same thing and it lasted for 16 years and 333,000.00 later after I spent my life savings on her as I used to get her flowers, push in her chair, the countless dinners, opening doors for her and worshiping the ground that she walked on..........................she came home and told me that she was pregnant and I cried for 30 Seconds then she told me that it wasn't mine and I cried for 3 weeks.....So if ya want my advice just send a single rose and if she doesn't like that and don't do it all the time ether as she will expect it all the time ( Past Experience ) than it's time to find another ( WALLET) by the way don't spend all your money as you seem like a nice guy and you will need all the money that you can get if you plan on dating ( WALLETS) Women that is cause they don't like to work or spend there own money so they will spend all of yours and smile while doing so...GOOD LUCK WITH THIS ONE DUDE....

Who am i supposed to give flowers?
As a married man who am i supposed to give flowers to? what does giving of flowers signify. Also as a married woman who am i supposed to give gifts like perfumes, aftershave etc. to.i believe that marriage is exclusive and there are things which you do for your spouse only.is this true?is it proper for me as a married woman to start giving gifts or things which i should be giving to my spouse alone to other men?what are the consequences of this? could you please advice some men out there with this kind of habit.Let them know that marriage is exclusive.
Who am i supposed to give flowers?
If you are married the only other men you should be giving gifts to are family members and then only on special holidays and birthdays. As for gifts for your husband you should give him things he likes. You should know what his taste is or if he has any hobbies and buy accordingly.
Reply:Not sure where you're getting at? Are you a man or a woman, first of all??? You mentioned being both. Flowers aren't necessarily an exclusive gesture or gift of married couples. Use your own mind and judgement and know that there are differences in the types of gifts you'd typically give a husband or wife versus a friend or co worker. Use good taste and judgement. And keep a respectful mind of your partner.

Should I give a gift to my son after his play?
My son is performing in a play this week. He will have 4 shows. Two are during the day for other school children and two are at night. He is 11 1/2. Am I supposed to give him a gift after his performance? If so, which one and what do I give him? In the past when my daughter had ballet recitals, I gave her flowers.
Should I give a gift to my son after his play?
I would suggest taking him out to dinner after the final performance and express how wonderful he was in the play. Point out all of the scenes in which he excelled and tell him about things that you liked that he did. Any encouragement would be fabulous for any child and it will help him to be more open and willing to try new things if he feels like you approve of what he does.
Reply:I'm just gona say it as simple as possible... yes! Take him to get ice cream, take him to get a video game or movie, I dont know just go freakin crazy with it.
Reply:my mom sent me balloons back stage for my performances when i was 13 and i appreciated it.
Reply:yes
Reply:I am not sure that he will enjoy flowers but maybe take him and a friend out for ice cream after his last performance. I always enjoy doing something to celebrate something that I spent a long time on. Hope that he does good!!
Reply:You dont have to get him a gift. If you do maybe take him shopping for something he may like or just take him to dinner. You could give him a card with encouraging words and have all of your family sign it. Me and my friends did that to my other friend. She enjoyed it alot and then we went to a movie and dinner. Wish him good luck before the show and good job after.
Hope this helps.
Reply:If you have given something to your daughter in the past it is a good idea to give something to your son. Maybe even a box of chocolate or something little that he will enjoy. Don't go all out, it just wouldn't be the right moment. Maybe take him out for dinner, something that he would enjoy. Make sure to give him alot of praise for being in the play.
Reply:i suppose u could take him out to eat @ his favorite restaurant. Or take a pic of one of his scenes that people enjoyed or a picture of him surrounded by all of the outer actors and actresses. Then frame it and give it to him as a gift to remember his special night. You could even decorate the frame with stuff you could get at a crafts store. i dunno... just an idea...
Hope you find what you are looking for.....:)

What is the best gift for a favourite teacher?
Books? Flowers? A bunch of fruits? Or a diary?? When i was ten years old, i used to bake cookies for my favourite teacher as her birthday gift...any suggestion?
What is the best gift for a favourite teacher?
yeah i'd say either cookies or cupcakes. it's what i would do no matter how old i am.
Reply:Buy a book. chose well. try something in the teacher area that came out last, wrap it well and put your own card in it.
Reply:I made sugared almonds and wrapped them in clear tubes with ribbons... I think its nicer to make something and sugar coated almonds are easy and Delicious.....
Reply:A gift card to someplace (Walmart, Office Depot, Target, a local classroom supply store, etc....). Too many teacher's, across the country, have to spend their own money on classroom supplies that this would be a great gift!
Reply:gift certificate is a great idea. either a restaurant or a place to get her hair or nails done.
Reply:I would choose a useable little container, such as Rubbermaid, and fill it up with things she can use in her classroom. Stickers, award notepads, pencils, sticky notes, etc. They do use a lot of their own money on the little things.
Stick something just for her in it too, a box of chocolates or package of candy.
Reply:A book of poems/short stories by his/ her favourite author
A bunch of daisies and a lovely big red apple
A colorful organizer
A set of pens
I dunno - these are gifts which I would give... :-D I usually give books, they seem to appreciate that a lot!!

They pray for you, wonder what you will be when you grow up, etc.
Keep in touch with your teachers....stay in their lives and let them know what you are doing. Another great gift with the letter could be a picture of you in a small frame.

Gifts for friend whos mom has died?
ok so one of my friends at school...her mom just died of cancer 2 nights ago. all of our friends would like to pitch in and buy her a gift. we were thinking about flowers but we kind of want something that will last.....so any suggestion?
Gifts for friend whos mom has died?
Aww, firstly I am very sorry for your friend, thats so upsetting.
I don't think buying her material stuff is a good idea. Chocolates and flowers will not make her feel better.
Instead, invite her to talk to you and remind her that you are always there for her no matter what but appreciate if she needs space and time before talking about it.
Also, make her a card, something handmade, to make her feel good.
Just don't buy her things, it will not make her better. Handmade things and things that money can't buy are 1000x better in this situation.
Trust me, I'm sorry this a terrible way to start off 2008 for your friend.
All my love,
x
Reply:well at a moment like that material objects wouldnt really matter to her, mbe you and your friends could hang out with her one day, with her mom gone shes probably gonna feel alone
Reply:One idea is to donate money to some cause in your friend's mother's name, or have her name put on a memorial brick or park bench. In some cities (don't know where you're from) you can purchase bricks, like at the zoo or other places, which have the name of the person. They are either used in the walkway, or on the wall. Same with benches. Some cities will have park benches and you can have a plaque with the name of the person.
There's also the naming of a star after someone.
This way you are honoring your friend's mother, which is probably something she would want.
Well, flowers in her mother's favorite colors are a nice idea. As for the photo of her and her friends and a statue... I really think something which honors her mother or her feelings about her mother is the best. Even if it's a simple book of poems. Are you all going to the funeral? She would probably like that as well. You might also volunteer to help out at her house if there is a gathering after the funeral. These type of things might mean more to her than a gift of a photo of friends or a statue. Although a sweet idea, a gift isn't really necessary, but acknowledging the passing of her mother and being there for her will really mean a lot.
Reply:idk maybe a cool crafty thing 2 take his/her mind off of it or sumthing else idk oooo a fun game like volley ball soccer idk kk

How do I create a baby gift basket?
I saw a picture of a baby gift basket in which the baby clothes were folded to look like flowers and placed on stems to look like tulips. I think they're called baby bunch baskets. I would love to make one for my friend's baby shower, but I haven't the slightest idea on where to find the instructions for it online. Does anyone know?

Reply:try babycrafts.com, there are some adorable ideas for baby shower gifts and decorations!
Reply:I dont know how they do theirs, but I could give you some ideas, receiving blankets could be folded lengthwise then rolled up, and cinched at the base with ribbon so that the resemble roses. Onsies could probably be rolled the same way. Two baby washcloths could be laid one on top the other, pick up at the center so all corners are hanging and tie to make another type of flower (like you would make a tissue paper flower) also look up "diaper cakes" those are really cute. I would fill a basket with baby items such as pacifiers, bottles, teething rings, rattles, toys, bibs, etc. and place the specially folded items around the edges for embellishment.
be creative, nothing you do will turn out "bad" just play with it a while.
good luck and have fun! I think making a baby gift basket is a wonderful idea and a very thoughtful gift with a personal touch.

Can someone give me some ideas for a gift for a Flower Girl?
The Flower Girl for my wedding is only 1 year old so I don't know what I can give her as a gift. Any ideas? She won't remember being Flower Girl but I want to make the gesture anyway. Thanks!
Can someone give me some ideas for a gift for a Flower Girl?
It's hard to say, as the flowergirl is more a 'Flowerbaby' :)
A stuffed toy would be cute, because as she gets older her parents can tell explain why that toy is particularly special...or perhaps a jewlery box that has an inscription on it?
For me, my flowergirl is my fiance's half-sister, and she is an only child in her household, so the idea of gaining sisters is really special to her, so I plan to give her some piece of jewlery that has a sister sentiment to it...course, she's seven, so it's a little different for me.
I think that there are very few gifts that a child that young could value in the present time, but as she gets older, she will look at the gift and think about you. So, a more timeless gift would be a nice idea.
Reply:buy her a locket and put a picture of you and her in it. remove the chain and put it on a ribbon to match or compliment her dress. she will have it to look at and you never know she may remember a touching moment of it...I have a memory that goes back to when i was nine months old. it is just very brief but i do remember
Reply:A teddy bear in a wedding dress...
Reply:Give her a gift certificate to someplace fun. One of the best gifts my daughter got for being a flower girl was a gift certificate to Chuck E Cheese. Taking her to build a bear is a great idea, she can have fun building the bear and then have a keepsake as well.
Reply:How about a nice piece of jewelry. Something she can wear when she gets older.
My flower girl is going to be 4. I'm thinking about getting her Wedding Barbie. I think that would be cute. I'm also thinking about jewelry too.
Reply:Hi, find something here. I think the lovely doll is the best choice. Have a nice wedding day!
Reply:You could give her a savings bond.
Reply:You can get her a savings bond or a little baby bracelet. Another thing that may be cool is to order a portrait of her (by your photographer) before the wedding starts when she is all fresh and pretty so her parents have a nice memory that she will enjoy seeing and showing her children later. Have a great wedding!

Reply:i recieved a beautiful glass jewelery box as a flower girl when I was four... at 19 I still treasure it (and use it!). Get her something she can keep forever, just to remind her of her importance to you
Reply:I plan on taking my flower girls to Build a Bear because they can get all giddy and make what they want and it would be a fun day out for us.
Reply:A video of herself to give to her mom for a time capsule.
Reply:Get her a nice gold or silver necklace with a 'flower' on it, or something that you can put the date of your wedding and her 'position' in your group of bridesmaids. She may not 'remember' being your 'flower girl' but that necklace will be LOVED FOREVER because you CARE enough to get something nice for her even though she's 'too young to remember' ...
Reply:Get her a bracelet that her mom can put it back and keep for her when she gets older. Be sure to take a picture of her with the bracelet on and put it with the bracelet. She will cherish this even if she doesn't remember it.
Reply:Maybe a baby bracelet or a flowered head band to wear at the wedding?
Reply:a necklace or a photo frame.
Reply:I would suggest putting a photo album of the wedding and all pictures that you have taken with her included together for her, beings that she wont remember, but you also have to have something else for before the wedding either for her or her parents. my best suggestion for that would be something that could keep her entertained during the time that pictures are going on and the beginning of the reception before any "fun" in really happening. weather it is a toy piano, blocks, whatever she enjoys. the only other option that i can think of is a "special" seat for her. but she is still so young that she probably will not even realize that she has it. Good luck and congrats

Reply:a teddy bear every little girl needs one plus you can get some cute ones for cheap!!!!!
Reply:give her a huge bow-kay of flowers that are of unique colors or something

What should I give my girlfriend for Valentines day?
she has everything, and everything I've given her in the past I never see her use or wear. I always put alot of thought into my gifts and don't give the usual flowers and candy stuff.
What should I give my girlfriend for Valentines day?
Give her a beautiful red rose. It is very traditional to do so but find her a real one and make it the best one. Or you could go out for a day together and just do what ever you both want to do. Or a chocolate rose would be awesome!!!!
:) Good luck :)
Reply:how about getting a key made and then have it engraved with your name. Give it to her on a necklace and tell her that now she has the key to your heart. (It would be better if you can find a key that has a heart shaped handle)
Reply:love note
a really personal sensual affectionate love note. in it, let her know all the things she does that turn you on (and i dont mean just sexual things, i mean little things), pick out a few of her lil quirks and tell her how you love them, tell her how she kisses and how she caresses and tell her how it makes you feel, and tell her what you want to do to her, how you want to make her feel....get personal. not necessarily sexual, just...sensual, and personal. you interpret that how u think it should be interpreted. good luck.
Reply:Take her on a bike ride and a picnic (if you are in a part of the country where you can do that). Or if you are in snow country take her for a day of skiing or fun in the snow and a picnic in the cold. It doesn't have to cost much and you will see if she is having a good time. Then you could add a little something special like a locket or a bracelet.
Reply:quit buying her expensive stuff buy her stuff from the heart, stuff that no one would ever think of,make it special by thinking of it urself ull get it u know her we dont,u know wat she likes wat makes her go aww thats soo cute or i love that something special that she will always remeber which can just be the cutest cheapest simplist things

No flowers...the bride will have her own, etc.
As far as your gift, my brother always says, "Cash is King"!

Reply:I would go for money or giftcard. There will probably be a lot of flowers for the wedding already and you can't go wrong with cash!!
Reply:If you don't go to the reception then you don't have to give a gift = maybe a card with a gift certificate inside for wherever they're registered

What starsign (sunsign) are you? and what is your favourite gift to recieve?
For example... I am a Cancer and my favourite gifts would be... Flowers, A mug, A diary, Perfume, Silver jewelry, MOney, God Jewelry, Concert tickets, massage, celebrity autograph or a book.
What starsign (sunsign) are you? and what is your favourite gift to recieve?
I am a Libra and I would like a scale made of gold.
Reply:I'm a Taurus. To be honest I like money for a gift. I get the freedom to get what I want. I had trouble selling a stock once because I was reminded of how I bought it. I suppose I'm very sentimental in the silliest of ways. Aside from cash just give me something that reminds me of the person who sent it. Those things are precious to me. Believe it or not I have a rock that is the size of a marble that a friend gave me as a joke. I was twelve.
Very simple love and cash. What else is there?
Reply:Aquarius. I like odd things...like stuff you can't find all the time. Jewelry, penguin objects, flowers, eyeshadows, candles, mini statues, perfume...hell, I'd be happy with a shiney rock off the floor!

Money is always a safe bet, then I go to macys or something and buy some clothes, or blow it on fast food(taco bell)and gas since its like a billion dollars a gallon now, whichever comes first.lol
The last gift I remember...me and a date walked past a jewelry store in the mall that had a jar of pins/buttons that said "you're loved" and she took one and put it on my shirt. "CORN-BALL" haha..... but i would take that before a watch anyday. Little stuff like that.

How do I get my boyfriend to treat me better (more romantically)?
My boyfriend and I have been together for two months. In the beginning, he said that he's a big fan of romantic gestures such as flowers, etc. But I haven't seen any of it. I haven't gotten flowers, little gifts (even though I've given him little gifts), or anything like that. He's physically affectionate, but I want more. I'm not materialistic, but sometimes, flowers would be nice. I've hinted this to him with no results. I also sometimes feel like I'm paying for everything. This weekend, we went out for ice cream and he paid ($6). I paid for our movie ($12) and snacks ($12). I did this because I assumed he was going to pay for our Saturday night meal. Well, we went out to eat that night and when the bill came, he said that he had no cash, so I ended up paying for our meals ($46). So this weekend I spent $70 compared to his $6, and this isn't the first time. I live paycheck to paycheck, so spending like this isn't good. I don't want to break up with him. What should I do?
How do I get my boyfriend to treat me better (more romantically)?
Here's the real truth: if you are not seeing and experiencing the kind of treatment you want and deserve, drop him.
WHY? Because being a gentleman and a nice guy DOES NOT come NATURALLY to him. And it probably never will.
There are only 2 types of people in this world:
Givers and Takers
What are you and what is he???
Reply:Dump this Loser. He is using you. Are u having sex with him.??
Trust me, u don't want to pay for anything. I am very independent and I make damn good money. I have been paying the majority of the bills since we have been married and it is NOT fun. I think about how much money I could have if I was single.
Don't start a bad habit, honey and you will get respect. Only go out with the ones that can afford to take YOU out when asked. Send this Loser packing.
Reply:Sorry, but after 2 months, he's already kicking back. To me, this is a sure sign that the two of you aren't 1) communicating or 2) compatible.
Talk to him then decide what to do.
Reply:well, to he honest, he probably said those things in the beginning because he wanted to "woo" you. if he hasnt shown any signs of this kind of behavior and its only been 2 months, then just give up hoping things will change. becuase htey wont. you shouldnt stick yoruself in a relationshpi where you have to pay for everything, and that is clearly causing you stress. you may not want to break up with him, but you should look at the big picture and try to decide whether its worth it or not. good luck!
Reply:Well you can't have it both ways! If you want a more romantic boyfriend, then you need to find a different one. YOU CANNOT CHANGE PEOPLE!!! He is who he is and nothing you do can change it. So if you don't want to break up with him then quit bit-ching about how he treats you! You want to continue being a fool and pay for everything, it's totally up to you!
Reply:Well, it looks like you are getting to know his true character at this point. So, if you really don't want to break up with him, you're going to have to settle for a lazy, inconsiderate lump who manipulates you into paying his way.
You're probably better off breaking up with him.
Reply:honey... the guy right now is a jerk... talk to him... and if that doesn't work then you should really think if you want to be with him.if a guy is not treating you the way he is suppose to be treating you then he is not worth it.... talk and take action honey! good luck and hope this helps you !
Reply:It's tacky for him to go out to eat without any money in his pocket for at least his own meal. If he's showing you this little appreciation 2 mo into it, I think it's not likely to improve.
The thing is, if you have to solicit romance....to me it's just not romantic. I mean, anyone can fake the funk for a little bit then they fall off the wagon. You sound like a thoughtful person so you know that little gifts and nice gestures come from the heart, not because you feel obligated to do so.
Reply:Sounds like he's taking advantage of you. Stand up for yourself, he won't respect you if you don't.
Reply:is it that he is cheap or does he just not have the money at all, because it sounds like he really likes you but you should realize that money isnt everything. you guys could rent a movie and it would be cheaper or even order a pizza and save money, that would probably help you both fall in love faster.
Reply:Replace Boyfriend
(he is using you as a cheap lay, you pay for his services)
Whats wrong with you
Reply:tell one of his friends. It's hard for you to smack him around for something like this because it's and unwritten rule (edicut), but if he has a reasonable friend, the friend can.
Reply:A bit of a cliche but - talk to him. Unless he's a mind reader he won't know how you feel. Otherwise you can just stop paying for things and stop being his skivvy.
Reply:Stop doing what you are doing and confront him about it. I have been in your shoes and if I knew then what I know now I would be a millioniare. The man is supposed to wine and dine you. It is okay on occasion to spend your money on dates but the majority is on the MAN! He is a boy trying to live out a man's life. You deserve better than him. If things dont change, I would wait on someone better.
Reply:Don't pay for anything, tell him you don't want to pay everytime, all the time. Keep your options open, like for another guy.
Reply:hmm sounds like yall should have a few dates at each others house, like watch a movie, and the flowers thing i have no idea cause im a guy and ive bought flowers for girls 3 times and its always on the 2nd date
Reply:Maybe I'm old school, but he sounds like a problem. I would be embarrassed if my girl had to continually pay my way without an explanation. Granted, a relationship shouldn't be only about gifts, or what you hope to gain materially from the other, but if it's that intangible "I'm wondering if he's really committed to me" feeling, don't ignore it.
You have 2 issues:
1. What he's not paying for that could show his true value of your relationship.
2. The romantic things that he could do that would cost little or no money that he doesn't think of.
No one person can carry a romance, it takes two! What would he be like after you're married? He certainly doesn't sound like he's head-over-heels to me. As far as physical affection, most guys can drum that up consistently without necessarily being in love with you.
Reply:what a looser. he used those romantic lines to get with you. now that relationship is in full swing you can see who he really is. i say you move on. actions are louder than words, and he clearly is not a believer in romantic gestures. he seems to be more of a leech than anything. you need to think about whether you want to support his mooching habits, or move on while you still have hope.. and money. good luck
Reply:In all honesty you need to talk to him openly and honestly, especially about the finances!
As far as romantic gestures go, it is never satisfying to ask for those thing because you'll never know why he did them, "was it because you asked or hinted or because he really wanted to?" You need to ask yourself if you can like him, love him or be with him if he doesn't so those things like flowers and candy. If you can't then cut him loose now! Before you get anymore emotionally involved, if you can like, love %26amp; be with him without all the romantic stuff then do so and don't make him feel bad about it and let it go.
Most men aren't great at change. So you have to decide what you want %26amp; don't want...That is what dating is a process of elimination. If you decide you can't be with him as he is now, either he will change or you will find someone else you are more content with!
Reply:Taqlk to him. That's all. Talk to him. I talked to mine. AND I didn't give him any. I told him we are back at square one where he had to work for the P***Y lol.
Reply:you find another boyfriend
Reply:Well first of all - let's seperate the flowers/little gifts issue and the paying for everything issue.
1. Paying for everything issue.
He's a scrub, darling. Don't hint. Don't infer. Don't beat around the bush. You need to tell him that you're always paying for everything and you're sick and tired of it. You might also mention that you don't want to be in a relationship where you're always paying for everything.
It sounds like you're a reasonable gal and would be happy if he would just meet you halfway in expense sharing. Tell him this. Also tell him if he needs a woman to pay for his half of stuff, he might want to date his Mom.
2. Flowers and Little Gifts
This is even tricker because he's not trying to be intentionally stupid - he is just clueless and judging by some of the things you've said - probably cheap.
If your boyfriends defense, LOTS of guys don't see the point behind buying a girl flowers. They just die anyway, right? However, if your boyfriend was presenting himself one-way (as a romantic paramour who loves grand romantic gestures) and has now ended up another way (the always broke boyfriend who don't buy you flower and can't pay for dinner) then you might want to re-evaluate the entire reason you started dating him in the first place.
He kind of has to figure out the gift giving part himself but you should certainly draw a line in the sand on the money issue.
Reply:If you don't want to break up with him, then you've got no choice but to tell him straight off that you can't afford to pay for your dates, and suggest going out on cheaper dates... maybe you can start cooking for him.
But personally, that whole girl-paying-for-the-meal thing is a total turn off for me, so unless he's got a really good excuse for treating you this way, I'd say break up with him. And do it soon, before he robs you of more than just money.

Good online gift delivery places ?
Besides FTD, Pro Flowers and 1-800-Flowers, does anyone know some good places online to order gifts to be delivered? I'd love to find something slightly unusual, but any suggestions will be appreciated. A friend is having surgery today and I want to send something.

What do ladies like the best as a gift on the first date , chocolates, flowers or jewelerry or perfume?
pls choose only one as im doing a survey,
What do ladies like the best as a gift on the first date , chocolates, flowers or jewelerry or perfume?
goats cheese
Reply:I say chocolate
Reply:Flowers are nice. But really one the first date you do not have to give a gift. Just spend time getting to know each other. And then if you keep dating give flowers, and other gifts. But by all means do not give jewelery. That is to much to soon for the first date.
Reply:For the first date, flowers is the best one...plus with your love and sincerity.

Reply:You'd give someone jewelry on a first date?
NO NO NO!!!!!
Flowers, some sweets, open EVERY door for her and pay for the meal.
Reply:Flowers.
It's cheap but pretty, leaving you flattered and not feeling like you should have gotten your date something, too. Besides, allergics have a hard time with perfume and it's risky if you don't know the preferences of the lady in question. And in an anorectic/overweight world like this, chocolate may hint something rude. Plus, if the date goes horribly wrong, flowers are easily removed.
Reply:They like beer on the first date.
Reply:Flowers are nice. A nice spring bouquet or roses.
Reply:diamonds are forever and a girls best friend. (jewelery)
Reply:Just flowers, anything else and it overwhelming....
Reply:Not a bunch of flowers they don't feel like carrying them around everywhere. lol But DEF. flowers!
Reply:I'd prefer flowers rather than chocolates, jewelry, perfume or something else. Perfume and jewelry are too personal for a first date. Flowers are always romantic!
Reply:I like flowers
Reply:chocolate duh.
Reply:Just pay for dinner.
Reply:For a first date, flowers are great...second date..chocolates....then once youre going to stay together, if ya do...thats when the jewelry and perfume comes.*

Personally, as a female, do you like getting flowers from guys?
Why or Why not.
If not what do you like men to do for you?
(i hate flowers and not to big on chocolate, so i dont know what i like getting as gifts)

No, every time I have gotten flowers it has been because he did something wrong and was trying to stay out of trouble.

A weekend break in a health farm;
Sexy underwear;
A sequinned slinky top!
Reply:I personally prefer chocolate over flowers. But I do appreciate anything my BF gets me, it's the simple fact that he spent time/money on me, it's the thought that counts!
Reply:Yes, flowers are lovely.

I'd rather be surprised with dinner at a nice restaurant, or a gift certificate to a spa.
Flowers are so cliche. Guys should be a little more creative.

My bf and I broke up. Naturally he's given me things throughout our relationship. I don't have the heart to burn or throw away any of the things he's given me like other people have been telling me to do. But I don't really think that I should be keeping it to remind me of him either...What should I do with all teh cards, flowers, gifts etc..?

You only have 3 options: Sell, give away, or store it.
Reply:put it in a box and store it somewhere safe but not in plain sight. well not your plain sight anyways.

What is a good gift for a woman very close to me who just had open heart surgery?
A very special person to me just had to have open heart surgery. She was my teacher a few years ago where my mom works and she has been almost like a second mother to me. She has done so much for me and I am thinking about getting her a gift. I got her a card but I am thinking I might want to get her something else.
What should I get her? I really don't want to get her chocolate, flowers, ballons, because she will probably get these things from everyone. At the same time I don't want it to be really extravagant. Just a meaningful little present to let her know I am thinking of her.

OH DOOD! i just remembered this episode on martha steward's show (i was bored), and she had a guest online that sells HEART CAKES online. yup. heart cakes
make it here

or buy it here

i don't have any experience with those links so idk how good they are. but if you can, try to design like medical stuff ontop with frosting like maybe a crack (broken heart) or scapels, etc..
that would be quite cool.
Reply:Hi, try here, choose a lucky charm for her, will bless her get over the surgery.
Reply:well ifs shes like ur mom, u shud no her dislikes an hobbies, so if she likes to draw, give her some paint an paper, or maybe some embriodery tools, orsimply a big big hug, but maybe u shud get her a ballooon (yea ik u dont want to) but get her a balloon thats a big red heart , since it kinda goes wit the whole heart srugery thing,
Reply:a silver pendant or bracelet engraved with words that are meaningful to the two of you. Even something like :I'm there for you" or Friends forever" would be nice and not terribly expensive. Her favorite perfume, or dusting powder.

Has 1800 Flowers ever screwed up your Valentine's Day??
Yeah ok -- so get this -- both my bf and i buy gifts for each other from 1800-Flowers, advertised here on Yahoo. We both place our orders to be delivered yesterday in aticipation that it would be very busy today.
Not only did neither one of us get them yesterday do to some poor excuses, but it is 6:15 pm PST time in CAlifornnia and we both still do not have them and are needing to go to dinner soon which means that we probably will not get them today.
Now not only is the surprise gone, but while everyone else has their gift, our wellplanned ones on our part, never made it. Thank you 1800-Flowers
Has 1800 Flowers ever screwed up your Valentine's Day??
No but I have never used them and this will probably make me think twice about using them in the future. Thanks for the warning.
Reply:So sorry. That SUCKS.
Reply:No, I have never tried 1800 Flowers. I usually order from Pro Flowers, and everything so far has always been delivered on time. Sorry to hear about that though, happy V-day anyways.

Help with identifying a flowering plant?
I received a plant as a gift. It has large, rubbery green leaves with curvy-serrated leaves (oval shaped, pointed at the end) and long-stemmed clusters of small orange flowers. Does anyone know what sort of plant this might be, and possibly some care guidelines?
Help with identifying a flowering plant?
The photo you put up is of a kalanchoe (sp?). Just let it dry out in between waterings and when you do water, water throughly. Keep it in a sunny spot in the house.
It should keep blooming for you for quite a while.
Reply:Is it possible for you to get a picture of the plant?
Reply:Hard to tell with just a description. It can be lots of different things.
Reply:no i dont know
Reply:With the thick rubbery leaves and clusters of orange flowers it sounds like a kalanchoe. here is a picture and growing conditions. They are very long lived, I have one that was destined for destruction over 10 years ago. It still blooms for me each late winter and throughout the summer. Good luck and I hope this helps. http://www.flowersgrowing.com/kalanchoe/
Reply:kalanchoe, keep it away from cold drafts (doors, windows, and vents) and make sure it gets lots of light...
Reply:Search "Primula auricula" aka Auricula , it's my best guess without a picture. RScott

Cook her dinner and have the table set nice for her; linens, nice china, music, etc. Ok, if that's not what you were looking for I agree with the other answer....a nice scarf or pair of gloves.
Reply:A nice book!
Reply:if you live somewhere cold. get her a nice scarf!! she'll enjoy that and plus it'll remind her of you :)
Reply:Make it personal, cook her a romantic dinner and have the house set up to pamper her for the night, massage draw her a bath...things like that. Women love it and it doesnt cost you much at all.

Guy Gifts?
ok...for gifts guys get girls jewlry and flowers and teddy bears and candy and cute things like that.
what does a girl get a guy?
im kinda confused...
Guy Gifts?
guys like candy too.
Reply:Get him a box of condoms....that's always a great gift.
Reply:beer and food. also since most of us don't make time to go shopping, clothes are good
Reply:Well it depends on the occassion, and how old the guy is. Guysliike cologne and watches. Maybe you could buy him a sweatshirt. If you update with mor infromation i can edit my answer to be more specific.
Reply:Get him one of those restaurant gift cards. Then he can take you out to dinner often. Nobody likes to eat alone.
Reply:Guys like trinkets, watches. Cheap everyday gifts could be itunes gift certificates, a gift card from his favourite coffee shop etc...
Reply:For gifts, think practical. If he can USE it today it is a good gift.
Reply:I would say if the guy like sports which many guy do. A great gift would be tickets to watch his favorite team, my wife gave me Yankees tickets to a game and went with me to the game even though she doesn't like baseball, but she went to make me happy and i was thrilled that she was there because we had a great time
Reply:You should get him something he can collect or use in alot of ocasions like a baseball, shoes, a hat, or maybe a shirt
Reply:Something he can actually use. Most guys do not want the sentimental bauble that just sits around and does nothing. But it's also different for every guy so you have to know the guy and what he likes. But that isn't hard since most guys don't hide who they are.
Alert Alert Alert. Guys do not like cologne or watches. They will smile and thank you but trust me they don't want cufflinks, ties, watches, etc...
Trust me if you look at the guy you will know. He's all surface. Your friend is right. Something related to the hobby. In this case music. Please do not go shopping for clothes I can promise you that you will not get him what he would get himself. Again he'll smile and thank you and maybe even wear it once but guys have closet corners full of stuff the gf bought.
Reply:The silly answer is that guys want girls so get him one ;)
To be serious though...
Gifts should always be personal. I know that a lot of people would say that it is easy to give something like Jewelry or flowers or candy to a girl. But does she like Roses, Tulips, or Orchids?
Does she prefer Gold, silver, diamonds, pearls, emeralds or something else entirely?
Men are the same way. We don't all like the same thing and even if we did we have preferences within the general categories.
If you know someone well enough to want to give them a gift then you want to give them something they will like.
My best advice is to give a guy something he wants but would never get for himself. Give him something that will make him think of you whenever he sees it.
Reply:hey its the t man saying not all guys but most guys {not me im more mature to fall for stuff like this} want sex
Reply:Sometimes girls get a suit for guys. the most specil gift that a guy could get is like what he likes. I am sure those will work
Reply:any thing for his car, or electronics. Makes them happy every time..... or strip show?? :P
Reply:Watches, wallets, belts, ties, shoes, shirt, hat, jacket, shades.
Reply:Its hard you have to be creative. depending on the weather a couple pairs of basketball shorts, nice t's, or even a pair of tennis shoes. Tickects to some sort of game. Or a pamper day of a nice restaurant, movies, a cake at home with a back rub. Maybe go out of town for the weekend. A new jacket, jewelry (necklace), even the old fashion money in a card.
Reply:I get my boyfriend candy. lol its the only thing you can get them XD they hardly like anything else %26lt;3 GOOD LUCK
I have always wondered too.
Reply:Yep, candy and chocolates
specially if spread generously all over your body...

No gifts from BF?
Ok....is it wierd that my bf in the two years we have been together has only gotton me gifts on my birthday and christmas? The only flowers I have ever gotton outside of those occaisions were "im sorry" flowers. I thought boyfriends got thier girls gifts once in a while? Even small stupid stuff....like a pair of socks he thought I might like....something...
No gifts from BF?
yea that kinda sux cause mine does random stuff just cause
Reply:Obviously, you bf wasn't given the rules on how to court a lady. :) Maybe if you start giving him some spontaneous gifts, he'll get into doing it as well.
Also, if you ever talk to him about this, you might want to say 'You never give me signs/tokens of your affection' instead of 'You never give me any gifts'.....
Reply:I totally feel you! My BF is the same way... nothing spontaneous ever... be it gifts, cards, or just a "special surprise" . All of those so called "Relationship" books out there say if a guy is really into you he will do all this stuff.... I think it is BS. I know he loves me but damn I would like to feel special every once in a while... I do things for him all the time.... reciprocation would be nice
Reply:I think you need to let him know how much you might appreciate a little gift every now and then just to let you know you are being thought of. Too many times we women expect men just to read our minds. That's not fair and we deserve to be let down when they don't perform to our standards without any knowledge of our desires. I had a girlfriend who would get upset with her man because he didn't just "know" what she wanted! I tried to explain that she needed to spell it out for him, but nooooo. She would rather watch him fail to do her bidding and get angry when he didn't "deliver". INSANITY! If it's a little gift you desire every now and then, let him know how much a small token given would be appreciated by you. If he fails to follow through, then you have a gripe. Best wishes!
Reply:You have high expectations.....just be happy that he's even giving you gifts at all. You should really cherish the fact that he's spending time with of you and he chooses you to be his girlfriend, that's what really counts. All that other stuff, flower, candies, and gifts are superficial stuff! There are thousands of girls/ladies out there and your BF could kick you to the curb and get another in a heart beat. So, if you are so unhappy why don't you just let him go and find another. If not, enjoy him and don't sweat the small stuff.
Reply:He ain't spontaneous. You could suggest to him that sometimes he bring something sweet for you, like other guys do. It might not be lack of generosity, just that he can't think of stuff like that.
Reply:No, it's not weird since there are so many guys like that. Weird is if only a handful of guys are like that. You just happen to get a boyfriend who is not as romantic as you want him to be. But the real question you need to answer yourself is this: are random gifts really that important to you? I think the most important thing is how kind he is to you and how loyal he is to you. It's not easy to find guys like that that you like and like you at the same time.
Also, it's possible that his financial situation is not that good, so he can't afford to buy random gifts when he can barely pay his bills every month.
Reply:How old is he? Does he have a job? Is he supporting himself, or living at home with his MOMMY? Have you bought him any gifts? Maybe he just doesn't have enough experience with women yet. Or maybe he is just selfish.
Reply:Be happy he gets you presents on your birthday and xmas. My ex never got me anything ever.
Guys dont think like girls do, they dont always think to buy you little things all the time. You should be happy and appreciate the man you have, and not what he buys you.
If you love him it shouldnt matter that he only buys you gifts on two occasions.

What would be a good gift for my parents...?
Long story short, my little sister passed away a few weeks ago, and I wanted to do something special for them in memorium for my baby sister. I had thought of the ingenious idea of getting a star named after her; but further research showed that it is only a novelty item, and in fact is not official.
I wanted to hear some ideas from you guys for gifts that would be unique, different from the flower bouquets and gift baskets.
Thanks!!

Retrieve a photo of her, from a time in her life when she was at her best. Either have it blown up a bit, or paint a larger version. Then, hire a poet to write a short poem about her and what she stood for (or you could write the poem). Make sure to work with the poet so that the poem has a personal touch to it. Last frame the work together.
If this is done right, it can be pretty amazing. Good luck, hopefully this sparks some ideas...
Reply:Providing they have a yard, get them a beautiful flowering tree to plant this fall as a living memorial to ur sister and their daughter. As it grows, a constant memory of the one u loved and lost. So sorry.
Reply:you hired professional to draw your family's portrait consisting especially your late little sister. it might be a good memory for them
Reply:a bench at her gravesite
Reply:I am so sorry to hear about your little sister, I think just sharing each others memories of the little girl with each other would help overcome your natural grief of her loss :(
Reply:Maybe plant a tree or a flower garden in your yard. So sorry for your loss.
Reply:Check with your local town .. my town sells memorial bricks (for individual donations) that can be personalized as memorials ... and these 'cobblestones' are permanently located around the city.
I've done this in memory of my Parents (who passed away in 1984), and my military service.
They may also have some other way to memorialize your sister .. perhaps a donation to the local children's library in your town of her favorite books (and make sure that they inscribe the name of your sister in them), etc etc etc.
Reply:That's very kind and sensitive of you. I'm sorry for your loss.
Do give your parents a great big hug %26amp; say "I love you mum and dad, I know you miss my little sister the way I do. Let's pull through this tough period together. Let's share our memories of her."
Have a prayer together.
You may also want to have a picture of your sister in a handcrafted picture frame (it's quite easy to make) for your parents.
Most importantly, being you, being there for your parents, is the greatest gift.
In this connection, it is important for you to acknowledge that you are hurting and missing your little sister. After that, tell yourself that you have to move on, while treasuring her memory.
Take good care of yourself so as to be able to take care of your parents.
All the best.
Reply:Parents always appreciate portraits of their families, children, grandchildren, etc
If you need an original gift try photoartomation (http://www.photoartomation.com ). They convert ordinary photo into Art and print them on canvas.
I am very pleased with the painting I received from photoartomation.com.
The painting is absolutely beautiful! I will definitely use this site to order gifts for people--including myself!
Reply:Give them a religious book to read with a note from your side - a prayer to God for their peace. They will be happy.
Reply:You should have an artist draw an oil based painting of her on canvas. I'm sorry about your sister.
Reply:You give them a hug and your being there is good enough. There is no present in this world you can buy that can take your place. Remember that!
Reply:That's very sad...
Ummm... maybe get a bench in memory of your sister... or why not try to buy a fountain/birdbath, beautifully decorated with your sister's name and when she was born etc.
And place it where she died or in your local park... I'm not sure how you go about that, but it will be very pretty :)
I have an idea in my head to maybe get a water fountain/birdbath with Heaven's gate at the top... It would be very pretty... if only you could make it somehow... or get someone to make it...
Sorry if i'm not much help ^_^''
But it sounded nice :)

Flower Shop Profit Potential?
I'm a Realtor and my mother is looking to open a flower/gift shop - I have found her a great location for $900 including utilities. I live in a busy part of Los Angeles and there are few shops of this nature in my area - in fact whenever we have to buy gifts we have to travel about 15-20 minutes out of our way to do so. We have the money and I have calculated the cost of every gift (chocolates, balloons, and other gifts) but am having trouble estimating the cost and profit potential of the flowers themselves. Let's assume I'm in a busy area open 7 days a week and the demand for such a shop is somewhat in demand - how much am I looking to spend per month on flowers and what's the potential for income if I sell a wide variety of products such as small bouquets, large, specialty orders and things of that nature... Anyone own a shop like this that could offer me some figures? Thanks!
Flower Shop Profit Potential?
I run a business similar to this business. She can be successful but the exact figure that she will make in a month are unknown. She will need to track her P%26amp;L statements each month to come up with those figures. I make around 1K a month. But then I am jsut starting up as well. after a year her P%26amp;L statements will show what she is making and she will be better able to figure out what she will make in a year. But a lot of this will also depend on her customer service skills. She will have to be a people person and do great flower arrangements. This business is not that risky because if for some reason the space was not to work out she could always bring the business home and run it homebased. Good luck.

My clients bosses wife died. What should I send flowers for condolenses or any other gift. Please suggest.?
A small bouquet or if there are any charities the family has made an option for donating to is appropriate.
A sympathy or condolence card is also acceptable.
My clients bosses wife died. What should I send flowers for condolenses or any other gift. Please suggest.?
Send white flowers, no carnations with a sympathy card to the funeral home.
Reply:Flowers are the safest gift.
Reply:send a kite with yellow ribbons
Reply:Make a donation to a charity organization in the deceased name or in their Loved one's name.
Flowers are so wasteful and this is a way to do something good "twice".
Cheers
Reply:Flowers or food.
Reply:Send some food. Food is so needed when someone dies. Send them a large muffin basket or a cheese and meat basket. Dont bother with the flowers. What a waste of money, and they just create more work, when they wilt and the petals and crap falls off. Help them out and send them some food to feed the numerous relatives and friends that are in town and eating up all their food, seriously. Its so good to get food contributions, when someone dies. It can be devastating financially to have to feed all thsoe people.
Reply:Yes send flowers and if you want to a sympathy card.It wil show that you care.
Reply:when someone in our department died, most of our vendors sent us flowers. we thought that was very nice. i'm thinking flowers would be the best gift to send in this situation.
Reply:A clients ....Bosses....wife.....you are too far removed for anything other than a card.
The client should send flowers but have you even met the boss or his wife. if not then just a card will do.

What do you guys think about this type of rose arrangement colors I plan to send to my gf at work?
I been dating my gf for close to 2 months and Its my first ever pay check from work and I am planning to spend it all on the most important people to me... One of them being my gf. I plan on sending her flowers at work since she knows that I have never gave anyone gifts and It will be my first.... So I have come up with the following arrangements...
6 white roses - showing that I care
5 roses - friendship
1 red rose - love
Purpose is that I want her to know that I care of her and will be there for her... and with the friendship and trust that we have... love will surely come.... which really is what our current situation is like....
What do you guys think about this arrangement and idea?

Gifts to Celebrities? Nascar Drivers? PPL you admire???
My husband and I were talking about why a "fan" gives a gift??? Princess Diana received SO MANY flowers and stuffed animals during her walk-abouts. (I read somewhere that she always donated the items to a local hospital) We send gifts to Nascar drivers, and our favorite actors....why?
Is it a way of connecting? Sharing? Showing this person that you admire them???
I am not talking about being a psycho-stalker fan here...let's assume that the fans are mentally healthy:)
I am sure I will get plenty of smart-a** answers...but I am really curious about this. So obviously, the 10 points will go to the most informative answer:)
Gifts to Celebrities? Nascar Drivers? PPL you admire???
I have no idea why anyone would do something like that except as a bizarre attention getting exercise. I have even less idea why people have "heroes" or a fans. I've met and worked with famous people most of my life, including senior politicians, sports "stars", senior churchmen in several christian sects (catholic, uniting church, anglican and mormon), artists, authors and media figures. They are all just humans. The very best achievers in most fields tend to be selfish, driven people (you have to be to get that good).
The cults of personality are based on the most idiotic of pretenses any way. Why aren't brilliant scientists, humanitarians, philosophers, researchers and the like admired instead of the plethora of "celebreties" whose only claim to fame is that they get paid insane amounts of money for being able to read lines on film, lip synch badly to appallingly written pop music, or simply happen to be famous because they have rich parents?
Reply:There is no way I would send a gift to a celeb for entertaining me. There gift is fame and fortune, they got more than I do, so if I can afford it they would not want it anyway.
They are only people, You do realize this I hope

Flowers and Peace signs?
Brighton has this new campaign called "give peace a chance" and in one of thier stores i saw a poster of the word peace and flowers growing out of the top
I can't find a picture of it any where
anyone have it or something similar?
or want to draw/sketch it?
I need to to make my friend's birthday gift.
thanksssss
Flowers and Peace signs?
Is this close?
And btw, it was John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band that did "Give Peace a Chance," not the Beatles per se.
Reply:It's possible to look on The Beatles websites since they we're the ones that did the song. I think mayby they could have gotten the poster either thru that or mayby a peace/flowers posters website

What are some gifts to give to men?
What are some gifts to send to a man without embarassing him? I know flowers would be horrible! haha

think about it this way what are his hobbies, or what does he like to do with his free time?
if he likes gardening then a potted flower of some kind could be a good gift. most gardeners wouldn't say no to a rose bush, though it might have to be a special species.
does he like to watch movies or a certain series on TV? give him a movie or a boxed season set that he would enjoy seeing but doesn't own yet.
also try to match the gift to his favorite Genre.
does he like mechanics or working in his workshop buy him a tool he could use.
does he like building models? get him a kit or a paint set.
either way find out what he likes and give him something in relation to that hobby of his.

The best things to send him, though, are things related to his interests- buy him a book about something he's said he likes (if he's the reading type), not something you think he NEEDS but something you'll know he LIKES (even if you don't see the appeal of it).

Reply:Depends on what he likes. A gift card to an electronics or tool store might work for some guys. I for one really enjoyed getting flowers the couple times someone was thoughtful enough to send them. If you do, get something "cool" looking and not too pale. We like deep, dark colors. Red good... pink, bad.

What are some gifts to give to men?
A really nice lunch delivered to his office or place of work, or even at home.
Reply:wristwatch
Reply:being a guy i would have to say that each guy will want something different.
think about it this way what are his hobbies, or what does he like to do with his free time?
if he likes gardening then a potted flower of some kind could be a good gift. most gardeners wouldn't say no to a rose bush, though it might have to be a special species.
does he like to watch movies or a certain series on TV? give him a movie or a boxed season set that he would enjoy seeing but doesn't own yet.
also try to match the gift to his favorite Genre.
does he like mechanics or working in his workshop buy him a tool he could use.
does he like building models? get him a kit or a paint set.
either way find out what he likes and give him something in relation to that hobby of his.
Reply:Perfume. I gave my boyfriend Hugo Boss and he loved it.

Reply:A CD, a book (but not the kind like "How to satisfy your girl sexually for dummies" lol), a subscription to a magazine that deals with someone he likes, an erotic photo of yourself, a miniature of a collection car.
If you are broke, a humoristic card like "Get a fantastic BJ at presentation of this card to the sender!"
Reply:Gift card for Hooters, Or Home Depot or Sears

Reply:id say try and go to the past a lil, i always try looking for music i listened to when i was a kid. it reminds me of the past. and think about it this way if u do remind him of the past he will have a better outlook on u.

Reply:welll it depends on how much u love her, so if u dont like her that much, flowers. u like her very much but not that much chocolate, and if u truly love her then diamonds, or if shes ur one and only, prize posetion, all of the above!
Reply:Most women love diamonds. I don't. I prefer white roses, which is what my hubby always gets me. What you get your sweety should be based on what she likes - and what you can afford.
Reply:How about a dozen red roses and a box of chocolate.
Reply:I would prefer a lovely ruby over a diamond for Valentines. But, above all, I would love to be appreciated and have little things done for me.
Reply:If you are planning on proposing, then diamonds is the way to go. However, if you are not ready to take that step I would stick with the flowers and chocolates. Thank you.
Reply:Cover all bases here mate.
Get her flowers, obviously. Don't and your a dead man. A nice box of chocolates, not the kind you get at the drug store, and hide inside a nice little diamond whatever. Necklace, bracelet, ring, you decide.
Reply:Diamonds .. and maybe flowers
Reply:Diamonds are forever, so diamonds would be my preferance.
Reply:I would LOVE to recieve flowers at work, but get her something else for later that night like a diamond. ;-)
Reply:At the Laura Secord shops, around Valentines day they sell Chocolate Roses. That way you can give her both chocolate and flowers, kill two birds with one stone. =) Unless you want to give her actual roses which she can dry up and keep forever. Keep in mind though, roses are generally more pricey around this time since they're in demand. Good luck finding the right gift!
Reply:diamonds....pink diamonds.....
Reply:all of the above :o)
Reply:i love white tulips, daffodils and babys breath in a bouquet. my boyfriend always gets me that and an edible fruit bouquet with fruit dipped in chocolate. mmmm.
Reply:A right hand diamond ring.
They are supposed to represent a womans strength and power.
From personal experience, THEY ARE A GREAT GIFT.
Reply:Eeek, there is a large price difference between chocolate, flowers and diamonds! Get whatever you WANT to get her, or whatever you think/know she will like.
I will say - regarding chocolate, do something a step above Hershey's and go for Godiva or something comparable. Flowers - my preference is to steer clear from the cliched red roses and do something original. Ask a florist for help (at a flower shop, not the grocery store). Jewelry - steer clear of Zale's or other mall jewelry stores, they rip you off. Look in the phone book for a private jeweler and visit them. Good luck!
Reply:A little of all 3 please
Reply:A kiss+A hug+A flower+A ring+choclate....
Will just make her....................more sweety n lovely to u...
Best of luck!!!
Happpy valentines day!!!
