For the ladies. I do pretty good, but what are some ideas on romantic gifts, surprises you never get?

I've done the dinners(both home cooked and eat out), flowers, chocolates, cards, rose petal floor with backrubs and wine,customized M%26amp;M's, I like the weekend getaways but don't know what kind of themes to use other than lodges, bed and breakfast, and the outdoors. But I'd like to hear some new ideas and thoughts on the matter. So I thought I'd go to the source and see what you ladies have to suggest.

Pack her favorite foods to eat in the car, bring some music you both love, make stops at fun things you would both like (museum, world's largest ball of string, skiing, etc), buy her some lingerie, camp, stay a night at a b%26amp;b, stay a night in a real swanky hotel, I think you get the picture. Just tell her what to pack, but keep the rest a secret. She'll be surprised every minute.

Reply:Your romantic gifts sound really generic. That's all nice and shows that you care, but it doesn't show her that you care about *her* specifically. Think about your grilfriend likes, not what Hallmark wants. Is there a special place that the two of you have? Is there some interest that the two of you share that everyone else finds really weird? Do something silly -- like take her for a walk where you've already written messages (romantic, funny, etc) to her on the sidewalk. And homemade gifts are always the best. The cards and chocolates are nice, but sometimes you have to be more creative.
