like it has meaning to the gift but isn't the usual valentines gift (candy, cologne, flowers) but its different, would u like it?

I think if you know the guy, you can pick out something that is more "him" and he'll appreciate it more. I hate buying the usual stuff. I like to try to get something nice/special (last year it was cufflinks) and something funny (this year that will be boxer briefs that say "I love you" all over them - from AE).



Once I got him a new road atlas - sounds really not romantic, but his was old and worn out and he LOVES maps. He still grins at me every time he pulls it out.



So yes, I think it's special to get something that isn't "the usual"
Reply:absolutely! I dislike valentine's day in general, so anything I can do to get away from the typical is good by me. Honestly, I see all the "usual" V-day gifts as boring and unimaginative.



However, if you want to do something different for valentine's day, I'd tell the guy too. If you don't necessarily want a dozen roses, let him know. Free him up to be creative as well.

if he likes weird things y not, but becareful and maybe its a good idea to just ask him what his perfect valentines gift would be.

if he's a hopeless romantic then give him something from the heart with lots of meaning but still a classic.

Reply:Yeah because you actually put an effort on what to give for that special guy, it's not like the usually cute teddy bear or something like that. Maybe i'll love it. I would say give it shot.
