I have a two part question. I live in Florida where it gets very hot does anyone else living here know when the best month to get married is (outdoors) and I need money saving tips on how to have a fun, beautiful, and inxpesive weddding. Any tricks or secrets would be greatly appreciated. For favors, gifts, flowers, photos, anything really I am a complete loss.
Wedding help!!!! When to have it and help on cutting costs?
Don't do favors. A small savings probably, but a total waste of your precious time and money. Most people leave them.
Reply:I would say in December. That's when my sister's got married in Florida. As for the money saving, you can enlist the help of friends and/or family for making the food, cakes, punch, or whatever (my Mom made my wedding cake, and my sister-in-law made the groom's cake). For the pictures, you can get single use cameras in bulk, at Sam's Club, etc., and let the guests take the bulk of the pictures
Reply:I cant help with the florida thing....but with the money tips.
for my wedding i made my own bouquets and corsages. Bought the flowers at a balk flower shop. wedding favours i did them myself.....cds with our wedding song and each person in the bridal party got to pick a song, and i put a pic of us on the front cover and tied them with ribbon that was our wedding colours. i did my own centrepieces at bulk.......went to a store and bought enclosed candles came in a box of 3 for 9.00
i had my reception in a legion hall, its way cheaper.......my invitations i did myself.
there are so many ways to save money, get people to help you too..good luck
Reply:Have a winter wedding. Anytime between mid November to February. How do you feel about a beach wedding?
Reply:I have not lived in FL, but I did spend the months of October and November there and it was gorgeous...October was a bit warmer though, I bet that would be a great time...plus it's off-season so wedding stuff is a bit cheaper.
Get a wedding planner, she will be able to lower your costs on everything because she has all the connections.
But if you really want to do everything yourself, check out www.theknot.com for tons of ideas, another good site is www.weddingchannel.com. Those are the main ones I use.
Good luck and Congrats!
Reply:You don't want to get married in peak months which are normally spring time and summer time; I live in Florida too so I suppose it may be cheaper in the fall or early winter and the weather would still be good.
Too help save on your wedding dress you could buy it online (and get it tailored later if you need) or go to a place where they have really nice knock offs of designer dresses.
For flowers you DEFINITELY want to use flowers that are in season because they cost so much more when they're not really available during that time of year.
For favors I think this website is really good (was checking it out for a friend) and they have really great gifts for not too much. http://www.americanbridal.com/ You could also make your own favors maybe by getting a bunch of candles (buy in bulk is cheaper) and tying them with ribbon that has your names and the date printed on them ex.

Good Luck with your wedding :)
Reply:i don't live in florida but maybe the best months would be early fall. For inexpensive wedding ideas, go to a craft store and get fake flowers for table arrangements, table cloths, and other things you may want in your wedding.
Reply:Try googling "weddings under 10k".
You can cut costs by buying favors at Michaels with a coupon, or making your own flower bouquets. You can also cut costs by choosing a wedding cake that isnt so intricate. If you want flowers on your cake, dont let the florist provide them as they will be 10 times more expensive. Go to a local grocery store or florist and pick up a bouquet of your favorites it will be a lot cheaper.
Reply:have it on christmas day, only your parents, his parents, both of your grandparents, maybe a few aunts n uncles, and your very very best dedicated friends will come...Darnit why didn't I think of that earlier?!
Reply:I live in Florida and the best time to get married outside is in late February why because it someday it sold and somedays it nice and you have a less chance of it rain, Dec and Nov are bad month unless your family had plan to get to gether anyways, and most of all it cost more price go up at that time of the year. I dont if you got a wedding planner, but if you dont I think you should, because wedding planner know how to cut the cost my cos had her wedding done by Jennifer from Now and Forever Events Planning her wedding budget was 3000 dollars and it look like 10000 she is go at what she do. She is on myspace im not sure of her myspace name just use her business name but you should go on there and ask her some question and she have a website at www.nandfevents.com and tell her you have a low budget but want a wedding no have ever seen and watch her do it. her myspace display name is Now and Forever Events Planning. even if you cant hire her full time ask her if you can hire for the day of the event and can you call for help and/or email her Good Luck
Reply:Have it in the off season, not the height of wedding season like summer and spring. Supply and Demand. The more brides comepeting for business the more exspensive it will be. that applies to EVERYTHING about your wedding.
Avoid holidays like Valentines Day or Christmas because those are peak times as well. In the case of Feb flower prices can almost triple in some areas.
Try to find an off time like in the afternoon.
DIY, DIY, DIY. The more you can do yourself the more you will save. Its a common myth that a wedding planner saves you money through all their amazing contacts. They don't.
Knock the word "wedding" out of your vocabulary right now! I mean it! "Wedding" instantly can raise the price of an item or service immediately because people know what an emotional attachment women have to their weddings. For instance wedding camera, wedding dress, wedding flowers. Nope. You need a camera, a dress (usually white) and flowers. If the vendors ask you can tell them you are planning a large party. Which is true. Don't tell a caterer "How much do you charge to cater a wedding of 150?" ask them "How much to cater a formal dinner for 150?"
Reply:Every two weeks Hobby Lobby has 40% off coupons. I bought a two tier veil for $6 and sewed a colored border myself.
Reply:i vote nov or dec on the beach. as far as cost cutting try super-wal-mart in the craft section they have bouquet's already made up for around $10 a piece and you could add some fake flowers in it for color they also have everything you need for a wedding very reasonable. Trust me it doesn't matter if you have a 10,000 or 10.00 wedding its all in your love for each other.. best wishes
