Has anyone else used dipped roses for their bridesmaids?

Rather than having my bridesmaids hold large bouquets of flowers that will most likely die a few days after the wedding and also to highlight the adage that "simple can be stunning", I am planning to have my girls hold a single 18" red rose that has been dipped partly in 24-karat gold and partly in clear enamel. The roses will then be theirs to keep after the ceremony, as a small part of their bridesmaid gift.

Has anyone else done this or seen it done?

I have not used them for bridesmaids, but I have gotten them as a gift. They are very nice and would be a great gift idea - for after the wedding. You are right that the real flowers would die anyways and silk is just a little too plastic looking. The roses are a unique way to personalize your ceremony.
Reply:I like that idea, have you thought about incorporating it into a regular bouquet, that way there's some contrast to the gold
Reply:I had a friend of mine do this and the girls loved it...I still have mine and it ahs been 8 years in Sept...if you can afford it, they look beautiful with the right color and theme and last a long time making them a beautiful gift and memory
Reply:No but that sounds so sweet and nice awww
Reply:No i haven't but i do like the idea go for it and post a pic to show us the finished product:)
Reply:What a great idea!! The rose looks beautiful. I've never seen them before, but I think that would be a very nice keepsake for your bridesmaids. They could keep it in a nice bud vase as a special momento of your wedding. Real roses are such a waste of money. A silk bouquet is really nice, but where do you put it after the wedding? Probably in a closet. The gold dipped rose is the perfect size to display and the gold accents will look gorgeous against any color of gown.
Reply:No, but it sounds lovely. Do you have a picture of them you can share with us?
Reply:gold thats very nice but i've seen it done once they'll love it
